The Rotary Club of Reno, Midtown has put together a team to run 178 miles around town to raise funds to help eradicate polio. RTO was canceled, so on May 30th we are holding a social-distance Virtual Polio Run-a-Thon in our own neighborhoods.

Rotary and Polio:

• Rotary International has been fighting Polio for over 40 years.
• Rotary spearheaded creation of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) in 1988, along with WHO, CDC, UNICEF, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Gavi. 
• Since 1988, worldwide polio cases have reduced by 99.9%.
• GPEI continues vital work in 3 endemic countries, 17 outbreak countries, and 12 key at-risk countries.
